Description

Huckleberry is an all-American, native shrub that assumes a dual role in the garden or landscape. As an ornamental, it blooms in April with white to pink flowers that attract hummingbirds, bees and butterflies. New-growth foliage is red in the spring and turns a glossy, dark green. As an edible, it produces purple-blue berries that are great for eating fresh or making into sauces or preserves. Berries left on the plant attract birds. Huckleberry is perfect as a specimen plant or as a hedge.
