Monitor Audio's Silver 100 bookshelf speakers have long been a hit with the audiophile crowd. They're now in their seventh generation, and they deliver wide, rich sound that's on par with many floor-standing speakers. That's hard to do in a smaller design, but Monitor Audio pulled it off and gave music lovers the opportunity to enjoy big, room-filling sound without the need for large towers. The Silver 100 7G sports a 1" tweeter that uses Monitor's famed gold dome Ceramic-Coated Aluminum Magnesium (C-CAM) material. But this latest version has a new waveguide designed to eliminate as much distortion as possible. The company also revamped the tweeter's magnet for tighter control of the driver, resulting in more detail across its frequency range.
