The journey begins with the innovative woofer. Pioneer uses a high-tech layer of spun and woven natural basalt — a glassy, black volcanic rock — to cover a strong, lightweight injection-molded polypropylene cone. This design supplies solid midbass punch with exceptional midrange definition, while its rubber surround ensures smooth cone excursion. The oversized soft-dome tweeter radiates impressive highs, aided by a special wave guide that improves off-axis performance — meaning you'll get better stereo imaging in more locations throughout your car. A sealed rear chamber allows the tweeter to reach lower into the midrange to improve the definition of vocals and instruments. The tweeter's compact and powerful neodymium magnet provides excellent performance even when the power levels are cranked.
