The Red Head 3/8 in. Solid Drop in Anchor Setting Tool is a necessary accessory for properly setting drop-in anchors. The anchor is properly expanded when the shoulder of the setting tool is flush with the top of anchor. Typical applications for a drop-in anchor are overhead applications, transformers and meters, ceiling fans and electrical light fixtures. To set a Red Head Drop-In anchor below the surface, drill a hole deeper than the anchor length, then thread the bolt through the anchor and hammer the anchor into the hole until the bolt head is at the desired depth.
