Before starting an electrical installation, electricians must ensure that the work environment is voltage-free. A voltage tester is required to test alternating electric fields or to locate suspected sources of error. A first indication, whether there is no voltage, is possible with the non-contact Wiha voltage tester thanks to optical and acoustic signal. After switching on, the permanently green LED indicates that the device is ready for operation. During voltage testing, the LEDs light up from blue (weak) to orange to red (strong) depending on the strength of the alternating electric field. Two AAA batteries are required for use, which are included in the delivery. If the device is not used for 4 minutes, it automatically turns off to save energy. An integrated LED torch enables the illumination of measuring points in dark surroundings and can be used as a torch by switching it on and off manually.
