Shares
24.1 Overview
A share is a set of access perm issions m apped to a specific folder on a volum e. I t is equivalent to
the Windows concept of a shared folder. You can m ap a share t o a net work drive for easy and
fam iliar file t ransfer for Windows users.
24.2 What You Can Do
• Use the Sha re s screen (
Section 24.3 on page 291) to navigat e a list of shares created on the
NAS.
• Use the Add Sha re s screen (Sect ion 24.3.1 on page 293) t o create addit ional shares on t he
NAS.
• Use the Re cycle Bin screen ( Section 24.4 on page 295) t o configure and clean up t he recycle
bins.
• Use the Edit Sha re screen ( Section 24.3.1 on page 293) to edit a share’s propert ies.
• Use the Sha re Br ow ser screen (
Section 24.5 on page 296) t o navigat e, add and edit the
cont ents in a share.
24.3 Shares Screen
Click Sha ring > Sha re s in t he navigat ion panel to open t he following screen. This screen list s all
shares creat ed on the NAS.
