NOTE: Avoidmountingsensorsinareaswithalargequantityofmetalorelectricalwiring,suchasafurnaceorutil ity room.
To mount the sensor, do the following:
1 Placethebaseofthesensorinthedesiredlocationandsecurewiththeincludedscrews(asshowninthepreviousfigure).
2 Whenmountingthemagnet,lineupthearrowonthemagnetwiththemiddlelineononesideofthesensor(seefigureonfirstpage).
Mountthemagnetnomorethan0.4in.(1cm)awayfromthesensor.Besuretosecurethemagnetwithadhesive.
For use with external input, do the following:
1 Repeataboveinstructionsformounting.Drillholethroughaccesshole,ifneeded(asshowninthefigure
onthepreviouspage).
2 Plugtwo‐pinconnectorintoJ1(seefigure).
3 ConnectwiretoN/Cdrycontactdevice.
Inserting and Replacing Batteries
Ifasupervisedsensorbatteryislow,alowbatterynotificationisindicatedontheControlPanel.Whenthe
2GIGsystemindicatesthatthesensorhasalowbattery ,replacethebatteryimmediately.Useonlythe
recommendedreplacementbatteries(SeeSpecifications).Toinstallorreplacethebattery,dothefollowing:
1 Toremovethesensorcover,useyourfingertopressthetabontheendofthecase.Thisdisengagesthe
clipholdingthecovertothebase.
2 Placeasmallflatheadscrewdriverintheslotbetweenthemetalclipandbatteryandtwistthe
screwdriverslightlywhileholdingbackoneoftheblackplasticedgesholdingthebattery.
3 Insertthereplacementbatterywiththe+signfacingout.
4 VerifyprogrammingandRFcommunicationwiththeControlPanel(seeTest i n g).
WARNING: Thepolarityofthebatterymustbeobserved,asshown.Improperhandlingoflithium
batteriesmayresultinheatgeneration,explosionorfire,resultinginpersonalinjuries.Replaceonlywith
thesameorequivalenttypeofbatteryasrecommendedbythemanufacturer(seeSpecifications).
Batteriesmustnotberecharged,disassembledordisp
osedofinfire.Disposalofusedbatteriesmustbe
madeinaccordancewiththewasterecoveryandrecyclingregulationsinyourarea.KeepAwayFrom
SmallChildren.Ifbatteriesareswallowed,promptlyseekmedicalattention.
