CAUTION
IF YOU COPY TO AN OCCUPIED DESTINATION ID, THE CONTENTS AT THAT
DESTINATION WILL BE REPLACED.
ALWAYS TAKE A MOMENT TO BE SURE OF WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN USING COPY.
C OPYING A C UT USING C OPY O RIGINAL
Copies the current file from its original location to any other location.
Select the recording to be copied, then select COPY ORIGINAL from the Utility menu.
The display will query for a destination location. Use the selection knob to select a file ID in the destination
drive and directory, press the ENTER button when you have finished searching. The display will prompt to
either replace the current file ID (Index) number, or select an unused ID number.
Press ENTER to copy the recording to the current Index number, overwriting any existing recording at
that location.
To select an unused file ID, use the selection knob again. The display will show only unused locations
in that directory, hiding recorded IDs.
When the copy procedure is completed, DigiCart/E displays information about the new (now current) file.
C OPYING A P LAYLIST (S TACK ) USING C OPY O RIGINAL
DigiCart/E handles Playlists in the same manner as cuts. Use the same COPY ORIGINAL procedures as
for cuts. Original Playlists may only be copied to other file ID numbers in a Stack Directory.
NOTE: Playlists use file ID numbers to find files when they are to be played. Moving or copying a Playlist
from one drive to another may cause unpredictable results during play out. For example, file IDs in the
playlist may not exist on the new drive, or they may be assigned to different audio. It is strongly
recommended that Playlists be used only on the drive where they were created.
C OPYING A D IRECTORY USING C OPY O RIGINAL
Duplicates cuts in a source directory to any destination directory.
Select a directory as the source. You must be in the directory level and not the Files level to do this. Then
select COPY DIRECTORY from the Utility menu.
The display will then prompt to select a destination directory. Press the ENTER button when you have
finished searching.
The display then prompts to Replace Duplicate Indexes in the destination directory.
If you answer NO, the cuts in the source directory will copy to the same Index Number in the
destination directory unless that Index is occupied. If an Index Number is occupied, the cut will be
copied to the next open Index Number.
If you answer YES, the cuts in the source directory will replace any cut in the destination directory that
has the same Index Number (the last three digits of the I.D. Number).
The display then prompts to Replace Duplicate Names in the destination directory.
If you answer NO, all cuts in the source directory will be copied to the destination directory, leaving
all cuts in the destination directory in place (subject to your choice for Replace Duplicate Index.)
