Use the SCRUB WHEEL or the ARROW KEYS to adjust the value, or set it directly by
entering it with the numeric keys. The Space Bar changes the sign of the Adjust By value.
When you are finished, press ENTER, then either press one of the numeric keys 2,3 or 4 to select
another value to adjust, or press 1 to execute the Adjust Level operation.
The FADE IN TIME and FADE OUT TIME can be any value up to the length of the selected
region. Their combined total cannot exceed the length of the region, so if one is set to 1 second,
the other can be up to 2 seconds if the range is 3 seconds long.
The graph below illustrates the result of adjusting the gain of a region that has already
been reduced to –4 db. In cases like this, the Adjust By value can go above +6 db because the
limit applies to the Gain Value that results from the operation
Adjust By = +8db

Set Gain Value
Set Gain Value sets the gain of all audio in the selected range to the specified Gain Value.
This is a way to set a known value that discards any previous gain setting. It is unique in this
regard as the other gain editing methods modify existing Gain Values. (This includes the
OUTPUT LEVEL parameter in the Edit Menu.)
