The 3Com SuperStack 3 Switch 4924
and SuperStack 3 Switch 4950 are
flexible, high-performance switches
that alleviate performance bottlenecks
across enterprise networks.
The SuperStack 3 Switch 4924 pro-
vides 24 fixed 10/100/1000 Copper
ports in a feature rich, compact and
affordable switching platform—ideal
for a large server farm, desktop power
users, or for aggregating 10/100
switches like the SuperStack 3 Switch
4400 in enterprise wiring closets.
The SuperStack 3 Switch 4924 is
also ideal for desktop connectivity
for users of bandwidth intensive
applications such as engineering and
scientific modelling, architectural
drafting and CAD/CAM applications.
The 10/100/1000 auto-sensing ports
in the SuperStack 3 Switch 4924
provide easy migration from 10/100
Ethernet to Gigabit speeds, at a
competitive price. So it’s easy to
future proof your network and
leverage your existing Category 5
copper cabling while enjoying a
ten-fold boost in performance.
The SuperStack 3 Switch 4950
delivers 24 wire speed fixed Gigabit
ports in combination of 10/100/1000,
1000BASE-SX and GBIC. The media
flexibility offered by the integrated
GBIC ports, allows you to deploy
additional Gigabit media such as
1000BASE-SX, 1000BASE-LX and
1000BASE-LH70 in the same platform.
This flexibility makes the Switch
4950 an ideal data center or wiring
closet aggregator for enterprise net-
works.
Both switches support 3Com Gigabit
Multilayer Switching (GMS) software,
offering advanced Layer 2 switching
features such as traffic prioritization,
VLANs, multicast filtering, and
RMON, as well as Layer 3 switching
features, including support for uni-
cast IP routing supporting static
routes, RIP/RIP2 and OSPF* and
Access Control Lists. Their Class of
Service capabilities are ideal for key
business applications, such as
multimedia, LAN telephony, database
and inventory/purchase applications.
The SuperStack 3 Switch 4924
and Switch 4950 are part of 3Com’s
complete end-to-end Gigabit Ethernet
solution set across all Gigabit media,
delivering high performance at an
affordable price.
