To modify the VLAN on which the selected ports will transmit untagged
packets, select another VLAN from the drop-down menu. The drop-down
menu contains all VLANs currently being used on your network.
If you choose to modify the untagged VLAN for the selected ports, when
you click the Next button 3Com Network Director will warn you that you
may lose contact with the devices connected to these ports on the
current untagged VLAN. For example:

This is just a warning – you may still proceed with your selection.
Tagged VLANs
When the wizard stage first appears, the list box in the centre of the
dialog box will display those VLANs on which the selected ports are
currently transmitting tagged packets. These VLANs are indicated by a
checked check box. In the example above, the selected ports are currently
transmitting tagged packets on VLANs account ID 2 and engineering ID
3.
If the selected ports do not currently transmit tagged packets on any
VLANs, none of the check boxes in the list will be checked. If only some
of the selected ports transmit tagged packets on a particular VLAN, the
corresponding check box will be checked but will also be grayed. These
are known as tri-state check boxes.
