*
RATE DEPENDENT: Define a rate-dependent viscoplastic model.
This option can be used in conjunction with the
*
PLASTIC option (HARDENING=ISOTROPIC only), the
*
DRUCKER PRAGER HARD ENING option, and/or the
*
CRUSHABLE FOAM HARDENING option to
introduce strain rate dependence in the m aterial models.

Optional parameters:
DEPENDENCIES
In an ABAQUS/Explicit analysis this param eter is relevant only for TYPE=POWER LAW or
TYPE=YIELD RATIO.
Set this parameter equal to the numbe r of eld variable dependencies in the definition of
material parameters, in addition to temperature. If this parameter is omitted, it is assumed that
the rate-dependent material beha vior depends only on temperature. See “Specifying eld var iable
dependence” in “Material data definition,” Section 16.1.2 of the ABAQUS Analysis Users
Manual, for more information.
TYPE
Set TYPE=POWER LAW (default) to specify the Cowper-Symonds overstress power law.
Set TYPE=JOHN SON COOK in an ABAQUS/Explicit analysis to specify Johnson-Cook rate
dependence (this option must be used with the Johnson-Cook hardening model).
Set TYPE=YIELD RATIO to enter yield stress ratios.
If this option is used in conjunction with the
*
CRUSHABLE FOAM option, the static
hardening relation must be defined on the
*
CRUSHABLE FOAM HARDENING option.
