Description
3M™ Economy Vinyl Electrical Tape 1400 is a black 7 mil thick, general
use vinyl-insulating tape. It is designed to perform continuously in
temperatures up to 80°C (176°F). This tape has a polyvinyl chloride
(PVC) backing with pressure–sensitive rubber based adhesive. It inhibits
corrosion of electrical conductors.

Installation
Techniques
The tape shall be applied in half–lapped layers with sufficient tension to
produce a uniform wind. Apply the tape with no tension on the last wrap to
prevent flagging.
