Application Description: Bonding corner tab of closed-cell foam to the
backside of the aluminum nailing fin on a vinyl window.

High initial bond strength; smooth adhesive appearance; easy to apply;
temperature resistant (to 160°F/71°C).
Product or Process Replaced
A competitive laminating adhesive was previously used in this application.
Benefits/Advantages To Customer
Easy to use, quick to apply: The liner is removed from the tab at installation.
The part is pressed onto the nailing fin. The adhesive must hold only until the
fin is nailed.
Resists environmental conditions: The adhesive must withstand the elevated
temperatures of shipping and storage after lamination to the foam, prior to
application to the nailing fin.

Quick initial adhesion: The adhesive must bond quickly to the closed cell

Adhesive Transfer Tape 9695 has excellent quick-stick properties.
Ability to bond to a variety of surfaces: The adhesive must be able to bond the
foam to a variety of fin surfaces. 3M Adhesive Transfer Tape 9695 is from the
300MP family of acrylic adhesives, which bonds well to rough or textured
surfaces.
