Scan Settings
The scan settings differ depending upon whether you are performing a full imaging scan, a
system calibration or a validation.
When you perform a full imaging scan, the scan settings section looks like this:
Scan Length
The scan time and processing time vary with the scan settings you choose. Take note of
these times, especially after you make changes to the settings, because you may not want
to start a scan that will take more time than you have.
Scan Energy
The Scan Energy (or strength of the X-ray) setting determines how well it can penetrate
the object and affects the contrast of the image.
Resolution
The Resolution setting determines the quality of your image. High-resolution scans
produce more data (or lines per millimeter), though they also take more time to process.
Scan Quality
The Scan Quality setting determines how thorough your scan will be and how much detail
is produced. CT scanning is based on hundreds to thousands of acquired images that are
averaged together to create the most accurate result.
When you set the quality to a higher level, the item is scanned more intensely, more detail
is produced, and the scan time increases.
Sprite offers five quality settings – Quick Scan, Medium, High, Very High, and Extreme
Quality. To change the quality setting, tap the slider.
