Flat Polishing Production Rate
C o n s i d e r a t i o n s
The production rate is the third consideration to keep in mind
i n p o l i s h i n g .
There are many possible combinations of heads, and no hard-
and-fast rule is applicable here. Generally, as line speed is
increased, more heads are necessary to achieve the same finish.
H o w e v e r, stock removal and finish results from any given belt
are well known and should be helpful in arriving at a solution.

Factors Influencing Maximum Line Speed
Maximum line speed is limited by the above four factors.
Depending on the number of heads available, it’s possible to
operate a flat polish line at speeds up to 100 feet per minute.
