Finding Library Items with Search Lists
The conversion software provides a Search List processing option for
identifying items your library would like to find, such as items that are
missing, lost, on hold, or to be weeded.
If the Search Lists option is enabled, the software automatically checks to
see if the item ID that was entered and validated is on one of the currently
selected search lists (exported using DDM).
See a separate document, the 3M™ Digital Data Manager Owner’s
Manual.
Enabling the Search List Processing Option
Your library Administrator enables this option at the Administrative Settings
screen. Only library Administrators have access to these settings.
For more information, refer to the 3M™ Digital Conversion Software
Administrator’s Guide.
Selecting the Lists to be Searched
Library staff select the lists to be searched at the Staff
Settings screen.
1 At the main conversion screen, click Settings. The
Staff Settings screen appears.
2 Select the List button to enable or disable the lists
to be searched after an item ID is entered and
validated.
When an Item ID is Found on a Search List
After an item ID is entered and validated, if the
application finds the item ID on one of the search lists,
an appropriate message appears.
You have two options:
§ Select Continue to convert the item.
- The tag is programmed and the conversion is
complete.
§ Select Cancel to stop the conversion.
