DESCRIPTION: Your Fall Protection Device is equipped with the 3M™ DBI-SALA® Comfort Grip Connected (CGC) Hook (Figure 1). The CGC Hooks incorporate electronic functionality that provides condition and usage status previously not available in traditional hooks.
1.0 Operation ;;First time or infrequent users of Comfort Grip Connected (CGC) Hooks should review the “Safety Information” at the beginning of this manual prior to use of the CGC Hook. 1.1 On-Board User Interface: The Comfort Grip Connected (CGC) Hook has a two-color Multi-Directional LED Display to indicate the status of the CGC Hook (see Figure 3). Additional wireless connectivity enables communication of status and usage data to the 3M Connected Equipment app on a Bluetooth mobile device.
2.0 Maintenance, Service, and Storage 2.1 BATTERY REPLACEMENT: The CGC Hook is powered by a 9 Volt Battery. Battery life will vary with frequency of use and the environmental conditions in which the CGC Hook is used and stored. Under normal use conditions, the battery should be replaced when the blue LED “low battery” pattern is blinking, as described in Section 2.1, “Blue LED Blink Patterns”. Replace discharged batteries promptly.
