Limitations of Use WARNING The 3M™ Connected Safety components used in this system are not intrinsically safe. Do not use in flammable or explosive atmospheres. Doing so may result in serious injury or death. The 3M™ Connected Safety Hub can only be used with approved 3M™ Connected PPE devices. Refer to and follow the User Instructions provided with PPE that may be used with this system for all appropriate use, operation, care, inspection and maintenance guidance of those devices.
Installation Unpacking Inspect the package contents for shipping damage and ensure all components are present. The product should be inspected before each use following the procedures in the Inspection section of these User Instructions. Battery Please read, understand, and follow all safety information contained in these instructions prior to the use of the Safety Hub battery pack. 2. Remove Safety Hub battery cover. 3. Place the hub face down on a flat surface with the battery compartment opening upwardfacing. 4. Insert the battery with the label facing up to properly seat the pack (Figure 1). Figure 1 5. Replace the battery cover and tighten screws to secure in place. A size #1 Phillips head screwdriver will be necessary to secure the battery cover.
Docking Station WARNING Do not disassemble, modify or service this device. The Docking Station contains no user serviceable parts except for the wall mount hardware. System components requiring any necessary repairs or service would need to be sent into an authorized 3M service center. The 3M™ Connected Safety Hub Docking Station provides a power source for Safety Hubs to charge and an Ethernet port to upload data that may not have already been sent to the Connected Safety cloud application via Wi-Fi.
Charging Safety Hub housings should be cleaned or decontaminated as necessary to remove any dirt or debris that may be present before placing in the Docking Station. Up to four hubs can be placed in a single dock. A full charge cycle for the hub batteries can take up to 4 hours. Charge only using approved 3M equipment. Do not charge outside of the operating temperature range. NOTICE: Always disconnect Safety Hub Docking Station from power prior to cleaning contacts.

Safety Hub LED’s LED’s are present on the Safety Hub to provide visual indication to users of various operational states both when a hub is docked and undocked.

Donning Instructions 3M™ Safety Hub Holster HUB-1-HLST-CX holds the hub when it goes into use. The holster’s metal clip allows it to be attached to a PAPR belt or backpack mounting option. Always don the Safety Hub where the device can be easily seen, and the user can feel the vibratory feedback when there is an active alert. Perform a pre-use visual inspection to ensure there are no visibly damaged external components of the connected system.
Inspection and Maintenance Refer to the 3M PPE User Instructions for proper use, operation, care, inspection and maintenance of those devices used with this system. Always inspect the Connected Sensor before and after each use for signs of damage or wear including dents, cracks, color changes, chalking, fading, flaking and penetration. If any signs of wear and/or damage are observed, remove the sensor module from use and replace as appropriate.

3. Permitted Use and License 3.1. 3M hereby grants to User a worldwide, limited, non-exclusive, and non-transferable license to access and use the Software in accordance with this Agreement. The Software is only licensed for use with specified Licensorsupplied systems for the Software and, if applicable, in accordance with any authentication credentials provided by 3M to the User. User agrees not to use, or permit others to use the Software for any purposes beyond the scope of this Agreement.
5.1. 3M may, at its sole discretion, use commercially reasonable efforts to provide support services for the Software to User; however, unless specifically provided for in a separate agreement between 3M and User, in no event, shall 3M be obligated to provide support services to the User. User expressly acknowledges that 3M does not guarantee a specific response time to requests for support services. 6. Warranty 6.1. USE OF THE SOFTWARE IS AT USER’S SOLE RISK.
