i IMPORTANT NOTE
When using DC power from a vehicle, ensure that the power source chosen will provide the
necessary power for the time required to recharge a battery. The charger will not recharge a
battery if the power source to the charger is not active. Consult the manufacturer of your
vehicle if you have any questions about its available power sources before installing the
charger.
i IMPORTANT NOTE
Keep the antenna of the land mobile radio (LMR) at least six (6) inches away from the battery
charger when transmitting. Close proximity of the LMR to the battery charger during radio
transmission may cause the charger to malfunction.

Inspecting the Battery Charger
Carefully read all provided safety instructions before inspecting the equipment. Inspect the
equipment before first use, during daily or periodic inspections, and before mounting.
To inspect the battery charger
1) Inspect the housing for cracks or other damage that could interfere with the
equipment's usability. If there is a damage, remove the unit from service and tag it for
repair by authorized personnel.
2) Connect the charger to a power supply and confirm that the LED start-up test performs
as expected. Each LED (red, green, and blue) will light up for 1 second each.
3) Ensure that the battery contacts are clean and that the area around them is free of
debris.
