So far, you’ve been working with media
that has already been brought into Avid
Media Composer, ready for you to edit. At
this point, however, we’re going to back
up to the first stage of the editing process
to discuss how to input media into your
system. Fortunately, you have many input
options, and one of the most traditional
methods is to capture the media from
source tapes.
When you capture media from tapes,
Media Composer creates a master clip and
a media file. Managing both of these file
types is very important, and in this chapter
you’ll learn how to log, capture, and orga-
nize your material.
