Service Administration
The SIP Service settings can be found in the Web User Interface under Services / SIP Service Configuration. Configurable
variables include:
Administrative Domain Names - A list of the domain names which the SIP Service is responsible for. This value defaults
to the hostname (or shared hostname in the case of an HA pair) of the server.
Administrative Domain IPs - A list of the IP addresses which the SIP Service is responsible for. This value defaults to the IP
address (or shared IP address in the case of an HA pair) of the server.
Required Periodic Maintenance Actions
If no known problems have occurred, it is prudent to inspect the log file for anomalies once a week to ensure that every-
thing is still running smoothly. Since the log files are automatically rotated, there should be no other routine maintenance
needed to ensure the smooth operation of the system.
Troubleshooting
If BluStar 8000i terminals or other SIP User Agents cannot contact the proxy server (i.e., cannot make calls or register), Sys-
tem Status should be consulted to verify that the MarshalsUserAgent process is still running. (The Redirects process must
also be running - see the section discussing the Redirects service below.)
If the process is running, the Log Viewer user interface should be used to examine log files in detail. The log file for this
service is usually called ms-5060.log, where the 5060 is the configured service port.
Note:
If the service is not running, restart SIP Services, and ensure that the System Monitor is configured to automatically
restart SIP Services. If this does not address the problem, contact the Technical Assistance Center for assistance.
Note:
If the cause of the malfunction cannot be determined by inspecting the log file, contact the Technical Assistance Center
for assistance.
