Use of ABB Overload Relays in Single-phase Applications
Only the ABB type TA_ _DU thermal style O/L relay can be used in applications where
a three-phase contactor and three-phase O/L relay are used single-phase power circuits.
Also, this must not be single-phase power that is derived from phase to neutral as in
120V single-phase.
The ABB Electronic type E_ _ DU_ _ _ O/L relay must not be used as it will trip even
when the power circuit is wired in a loop as shown below.
