Section 6 - Analogue Volume Control (AVC)
6.1 Using the Mode Switch
The DP-777 Digital Processor comes with a built-in Direct-Coupled, Buffered Analogue Volume Control system
(AVC).
This means that the DP-777 via the rear panel Mode switch (R6) may be used as:
i. Volume+: DP-777 is both a digital and analogue pre-amplifier (Analogue Inputs 6 & 7 are enabled).
or
ii. Volume: DP-777 is a digital pre-amplifier (Digital-to Analogue Convertor with the AVC enabled).
or
iii. Bypass: DP-777 is a standalone Digital-to Analogue Convertor (with the AVC bypassed).
Please note that if the DP-777 is set up to use the AVC, it will automatically switch to “Bypass” mode if the volume
is set to 0dB or Byp” (ie: FULL volume).
Using the Analogue Volume Control System easily surpasses conventional preamplifiers in transparency, dynam-
ics and musicality.
