The track has two types of lane elements:
Active lane elements Track elements that communicate with CARs and the Track
Sample Manager to perform actions.
Passive lane elements Hardware elements that are used for the track component
transport functions.

Active lane elements
Active lane elements have a printed circuit board and can be actively controlled.

Cross switch Enables CARs to switch lanes.
AccessPoint Enables CARs to stop. With the
guiding pin, the
CAR moves
against the horizontal holding
pin in the guiding slot. The side-
clamping jaws clamp the CAR.
PassPoint
Forwards the CAR ID to
the control system when the
PassPoint is crossed.
Charge lane Receives CARs with batteries that
need to be charged. Generally,
a maximum of four charge
lane elements can be placed
together to form a charge
