8.6 Deliver a Quick Bolus from QBolus Menu
Purpose
To administer a normal bolus using the QBOLUS menu of your Aviator Companion.
When
Do this procedure:
Whenever you need to deliver a normal bolus from the
• Qbolus menu.
Note: The increments are either 0.5 or 1.0 Units.
Materials
Your companion set up with basal delivery started.•
Your pump set up with basal delivery started.•
Bolus recommendations from your healthcare professional.•
Procedure:
Steps Do This
Access 1. BOLUS MENU
from Home screen.
Notice a. Main is highlighted.
Press b. Enter button.
Scroll to highlight c. BOLUS.
Press d. Enter button.
Set 2.
QBOLUS. Notice a. QBOLUS is highlighted.
Press b. Enter button.
Scroll to select the desired quick bolus amount to administer.c.
Note: The increments are either 0.5 or 1.0 Units.
Press d. Enter button.
Steps Do This
Deliver Quick bolus.3. Notice that the bolus is delivering on the screen.a.
Note: You will hear 2 quick beeps from your pump.
Decide what to do next.b.
If you want to Then do this
Finish delivering
the quick bolus
Allow the quick bolus to deliver the amount that you set.
Note: Once the bolus has nished delivering, you will hear 2
more quick beeps from your pump and return to the Home
screen.
Go to Step 4 to check your bolus delivery.
STOP the quick
bolus delivery
immediately
Notice 1. Stop is highlighted.
Press 2. Enter button.
Notice the 3. STOPPED ALERT screen and “Normal
bolus stopped.” message displays.
Notice 4. Clear is highlighted.
Press 5. Enter button to clear message and return to the
Home screen.
You have STOPPED the quick bolus and it is reected
on the Bolus panel.
Check your work.4.
Review the Last Bolus amount and time displayed in the Bolus panel on the
Home screen.
