ABBYY® FineReader PDF User’s Guide
6. Copy the updated Licensing.ini file located in %programfiles%\Common
Files\ABBYY\FineReader\16\Licensing\ to the administrative installation point that you
have just created.
For example:
D:\Temp\Adm16\ABBYY FineReader PDF
Adm16 is the administrative installation folder.
ABBYY FineReader PDF is the subfolder containing the FineReader.exe executable file.
The Licensing.ini file should be copied to the ABBYY FineReader PDF subfolder.
7. Make sure that the appropriate server-side port is open.
8. Reinstall ABBYY FineReader PDF on the workstations with the help of the administrative
installation point created in step 5.
Setting up the connection protocol
To set up the server protocol, use the ConnectionProtocolType parameter in the
NetworkLicenseServer.ini file located in %programfiles%\Common
Files\ABBYY\FineReader\16\Licensing.
[Licensing]
ConnectionProtocolType=[TCP\IP | NAMED PIPES]
This parameter allows you to either specify a network protocol (TCP\IP) or use the Named Pipes
protocol. This information is used:
·
by the License Manager to access the License Server
·
by the workstations to access the License Server when ABBYY FineReader PDF is being installed or
repaired on them
By default, the Named Pipes protocol is used.
