Test with a test gas
Before testing the detector, switch your alarm centre
to installer mode or omit the smoke detector. You
should check the smoke detector at least once a year
with the help of a test gas. The test gas simulates
smoke particles. This accessory allows you to test
whether your optical smoke detector works or not. If
the detector senses the gas, the LED light and the
siren reports an alarm. The alarm ends when the
test gas has dispersed. Following a successful test,
reintegrate the detector and exit installer mode.
Test button
The test button has two functions:
1. Test: Press the button and keep it pressed for 2
seconds. This checks the functioning of the siren.
2. Silence the detector siren: To switch off the detec

tor siren, press the test button during an alarm. If
the detector chamber still contains smoke after a
few minutes, the siren sounds again.

Battery change
The smoke detector needs two 3V lithium batteries.
These batteries are available in every electrical
goods shop. Do not use other batteries. Replace the
batteries once a year or immediately when the low
battery „beep“ signal sound once in 35 seconds. The
low battery beep should last at least 30 days before
the battery dies completely. To change the battery,
remove the detector from its base. Open the battery
