Acoustic glass breakage detector
Product highlights:
• Acoustic glass breakage detector
• Monitors entire window frontages and conservatories
• Distance to glass up to 9m
Reliably distinguishes between shattering windows and
glasses
Use the acoustic glass breakage detector to monitor large window
frontages. The detector reacts to the specific sound of shattering
window panes. Glass breakage is detected and reported to the alarm
centre.
The acoustic glass breakage detector monitors the whole room. To
function optimally, it should face the window area to be monitored.
The best position is approx. 2-3 meters from the window. The
maximum distance – depending on glass type – is between 6m
(laminated glass) and 9m (sheet glass). The detection range of the
sensor can also be less, depending on the window's environment
(curtains, flowers, interior window blinds, reinforced glass, etc.)
The acoustic glass breakage detector reacts to the sound frequency
arising from shattering glass (low and high-frequency sound
distribution). This occurs in two steps:
- a steep amplitude increase during the glass breakage
- a weakening amplitude caused by the impact of falling glass
fragments
First the glass breakage, then the impact of the glass fragments: The
acoustic wireless glass breakage detector triggers an alarm only if
these criteria are met. This prevents an alarm being caused by ordinary day-to-day clinking noises. The area of the pane to be
monitored should be at least 30 x 30 cm.
