Installation Guide
ASTT30P - WIRING INSTRUCTIONS
DO YOU STILL HAVE QUESTIONS?
Only unscrew the terminals a very lile bit. The washers have two straight sides and two
rounded sides. The straight sides need to fit into the terminal brackets. If you unscrew them
too far, they can be tricky to get back into place. Only unscrew them enough to fit the 30A
terminals in.
First install the white wire, making sure to bend the terminal downwards. Also note that it
should be threaded in behind and through the top of the white screw. Next install the black
wire, again making sure to bend the terminal downwards. Also note that it should be
threaded in behind and through the top the black screw. The terminal for the green wire
needs to bend down, otherwise the casing won’t close.
The reason for this type of installaon is to prevent the off chance of electrical arcing. If the
wires are all going upwards and are close, there is a small potenal for electrical arcing.
This plug works best with ST and SO 10/3 cable. The O ring (strain relief) can stay in its
original layout. If it is a lile difficult to get the cable through this ring, you can warm it up
a lile bit with a hair dryer or add non-flammable lubricant.
Also, be sure to have the handle installed so it lines up behind the tab on the top of the
plug. If it goes in front of that tab, it becomes useless.
