When you replace with the self-ballasted
lamp,
the lamp should meet with ul1993
standard.
Attention:
Before assembling your lighting fixture, please read the
following instructions.
If you feel you
do
not have sufficient
electrical experience, refer to
a
do-it-yourself wiring handbook
or have your fix tur e installed by
a
qualified licensed electrician.

GENERAL
1
. To ensure the success of
the
installation,
be sure
to
read these instructions thoroughly before
beginning.
2.
Al
l
electrical
connections
must be in accordance
with
local codes,
ordinances,
or
the National Electrical
Code.
If
you are unfamiliar
wit
h
methods of installing
electrical
wiring,
secure the services of a qualified
licensed
electrician.
3.
These fixtures are intended for
mountin
g
to a standard
4" x 2
" deep
metal
octagon
J-box. The box
must
be directly supporte
d
by
the
building
structure
and
U.L. recognized.
4.
Before commencing with the
installation,
disconnect the power by turning off the
circuit breaker or
by
removing
the fuse
a
t
the
fuse box
.
Turning the
power off using the light switch
is not sufficient
to
prevent electrical
shock.
NOTE:
The important safeguards and instructions
appearing
in this manual are not meant to cover all
possible
conditions and situations that may occur. It must
be
understood
that common sense, caution and
care, are
factors that cannot be built into any product. The
person(s) c a r i n g for and operating the fixture
must

UNPACK
ING THE FIXTURE
On checking the contents of the
box
you
will
find;

Fixture
assembly

Hardware
packet
(
4) PREPARING THE
FIXTURE
1.
If you
are
replacing an existing
fixture, disconnect and remove the old fixture.
Expose
the supply wiring
from the
(1)J-bu.
2.
Lay the un-assembled fixture on a soft surface and carefully
remove all
the
packing
material.
3.
Cut
and
trim any excess wire,
leaving
enough wire for electrical connections.
If you
need
to
adjust
the length
of
the
cable
,
release
the (B)cord
slr1ln
relief first,
then
adjust
th
e
cable
to
th
e
desired
length. Reinstate the
(B)cord
str1i
n
relief.
4.
Moun
t
the
(4)0-shlped bracket to
th
e
(1)J-box,
utilizing
the 2 supplied
(5) mounting screws.
5.
Connect the BLACK supply
wire
to the BLACK
wire of the fixture with the
supplied
(2) wire connectors.
Connec
t
the WHITE supply wire
t
o
the White
wire of the fixture and secure with the supplied
(2) wire connectors.
Take green (ground wire) from fixture and
green
supply wire (ground
supply wire) and
attach to ground wire from the(&)green screw located
on
the
(4)0-shapad
br1ckat
Use
the supplied
(2)wire connectors to connect
all
three
ground
wires.
6.
Position the
(9) canopy
over the
(4)0-shlped
bracket
such
that
the holes
on
the sides of the canopy
line up with the holes in the crossbar.
Secure
the
canopy
to the crossbar
with
the supplied
th
e
(7) screws.
7.
Remove
(11)81111retaining ring, place
glass (
no
t
included) over
socket
and secure with glass
retaining
ring.
8.
Insert bulb into socket. DO NOT EXCEED WATTAGE
AS
PER
CAUTION
LABEL.
9.
Restore electricity and check the operatio
n
of your new
lighting
fixture.
CAUTION:
Ensure
that
the Fitting is Cool and Switched off, before
Changing the
Bulbs.
Do Not use the Bulbs Exceeding Maximum Wattage as Per
caution Label.
Do Not Touch the Bulb while
fixture
is in operation.
