Energy-Saving Tips
The freezer should be located in the coolest area of the room, away from heat-producing
appliances, and out of the direct sunlight.
Let warm items cool to room temperature before placing in the freezer. Overloading the
freezer forces the compressor t o run longer.
Be sure to package stored i tems properly and wipe c ontainers dry before pl acing them in the
freezer. This cuts down on frost build-up inside the appliance.
Freezer shelves shoul d not be lined wit h alumi num f oil, wax pa per, or p ape r t oweli ng. Li ners
interfere with cold air circulation, making the freezer less effici ent.
Organize and label items to reduce door openings and extended searches. Remove as
many items as needed at one time, and cl ose the door as soon as possible.
