Energy-Saving Tips
• The freezer should be located in the coolest area of the room, away from heat-producing
appliances, and out of the direct sunlight.
• Let warm items cool to room temperature before placing in the freezer. Overloading the
freezer forces the compressor t o run longer.
• Be sure to package stored i tems properly and wipe c ontainers dry before pl acing them in the
freezer. This cuts down on frost build-up inside the appliance.
• Freezer shelves shoul d not be lined wit h alumi num f oil, wax pa per, or p ape r t oweli ng. Li ners
interfere with cold air circulation, making the freezer less effici ent.
• Organize and label items to reduce door openings and extended searches. Remove as
many items as needed at one time, and cl ose the door as soon as possible.
