PROBLEMS WITH YOUR FREEZER
You can solve many common appliance problems easily, saving you the cos t of a possible service
call. Try the sugges tions below to see if you can solve the problem before calling the servic er.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE
Freezer does not operate. Not plugged in.
Circuit breaker has tripped or fuse has blown.
The freezer temperature control is set at OFF.
Turns on and off f requently. The room temperature i s warmer than normal.
A large number of item s have been added to
the freezer.
The door is opened too of ten.
The door is not closed completely.
The temperature c ontrol is not set c orrectly.
The door gask et does not seal properly.
The freezer does not hav e the correct
clearances.
Vibrations Check to be sure the appliance is level.
The freezer seems to make too much noise. A rattling noise may come from the fl ow of t he
refrigerant, whi ch is normal.
As each cycle ends, you m ay hear gurgling
sounds caused by the flow of refrigerant in
your freezer.
Contraction and expansion of the inside walls
may cause popping and crackling noises.
The freezer is not level.
The door will not close properly. The freezer is not level.
The door was reversed and not properl y
installed.
The gasket is di rty.
Shelves, bins, or baskets are out of position.
