Introduction:
Thank you for purchasing our ACE Prime Breathalyzer.
It measures alcohol concentration in human breath using a
semiconductor sensor and calculates the blood alcohol level.
The device must only be used pursuant to the instructions
mentioned in this manual.
In case of any questions you may contact the distributor (ACE)
by email to info@ace-instruments.net, www.ace-instruments.net
Note to country-specific measurement units:
Customers in the EU get the breathalyzer with ‰ (per mill)
as default setting, in the UK the default setting is mg/L and
in the USA it is % BAC. In the chapter „Technical data“ you will
find information about the accuracy concerning the different
measurement units. Please check e.g. the website of the
department of transportation, the website of the Ministry of
Transport or of automotive clubs to get informed about the
current alcohol limits in your country.
Short description:
The ACE Prime Breathalyzer can be operated by only one
button. The test results have a tolerance of +/- 0.10‰ (per mill
= default setting) with reference to 0.50‰. For devices with UK
measurement unit the tolerance is +/- 0.05mg/L with reference
to 0.25mg/L, for devices with US measurement unit the toleran-
ce is +/- 0.01% BAC with reference to 0.05% BAC. The test result
is shown on a display with 3 digits (2 decimals) and it can be
interpreted 1:1 – so if the shown test result is, e.g., 0.36 then this
means 0.36‰ = per mill (for UK: if the shown test result is, e.g.,
0.18, then this means 0.18mg/L, for USA: if the shown test result
is, e.g., 0.36, then this means 0.36% BAC).
The semiconductor sensor inside the ACE Prime Breathalyzer
can be calibrated. To maintain the measurement accuracy
of this breathalyzer it should be calibrated regularely. For a
calibration service you can send the device to ACE Instruments
(see www.ace-instruments.net).
For each breath test a new mouthpiece is recommended (for
hygienic reasons and also to avoid an influence on the test
results - a used mouthpiece may contain rest alocohol).
