Setting the Scene Mode
By simply selecting one of the following 21 modes, you can capture the image with most
appropriate settings.
1. Slide the mode switch to [ ].
a. Press the MENU button.
b. Select [Scene Mode] with the S/T buttons, and press the SET button.
c. Select the desired scene mode with the S/T buttons, and press the SET
button.
2. Compose the image, press the shutter button down halfway, and then press it
down fully.
The table below will help you choose the appropriate scene mode:

] Auto Camera automatically determines settings needed for the best
picture.
[ ] Panorama To create 360° panoramic images.
[ ] Portrait Man To photograph a man and blur out the background.
[ ] Portrait Lady To photograph a lady and blur out the background.
[ ] Landscape To photograph mountains, forests or other landscape scenery
rich in color.
[ ] Sports To photograph fast-moving objects.
[ ] Night Portrait Red-eye reduction and low shutter speed to capture nighttime
portraits.
[ ] Night To photograph scenes at night.
[ ] Candlelight Softer focus and daylight white balance (tripod use suggested).
[ ] Fireworks Small aperture setting and slow shutter speed (tripod use
suggested).
[ ] Macro For close-up photography.
[ ] Sunset Small aperture setting and daylight white-balance, ideal for
use where shades of red are prominent.
[ ] Sunrise High color saturation and deeper red shades.
[ ] Splash Water Fast shutter speed.
[ ] Flowing Water Slow shutter speed to capture soft flowing water and detailed
backgrounds.
[ ] Sepia Capture sepia tone images.
[ ] Black & White Capture black and white images.
[ ] Snow Capture clear snow scenes without darkened subjects and
bluish tint.
[ ] Beach Capture bright beach scenes and sunlit water surfaces.
[ ] Pets High shutter speed to capture lively pets in action.
[ ] Manual User-defined exposure and white balance.
