■ Intercom operation
The optional intercom function allows you to talk to the deck
from the cabin. The optional COMMANDMICII™ or COM-
MANDMICIII™ is required for intercom operation.
Connect the COMMANDMIC™ as described on p. 46.
• Up to two COMMANDMIC™s can be connected simultaneously.
• Transmitting is impossible during intercom operation.
• The received signal is muted during intercom operation.
q Push [F], then push [9• ] to enter intercom mode.
• The COMMANDMIC™ power is automatically turned ON, even if
the power is OFF.
When the connected COMMANDMIC™ is one, step w
does not appear. Go to step e.
w Select the desired intercom party, transceiver
(RADIO) or
COMMANDMIC™
(INTERCOM), then push [ENT]*.
* Push [LO/DX] ( SCR) from the COMMANDMICII™ (HM-157.)

] from the COMMANDMICIII™ (HM-162.)
NOTE: The COMMANDMIC™, connected to the [COM-
MAND MIC-1] connector, is recognized as ‘INTERCOM1,’
and the other side is ‘INTERCOM2.’
e Push and hold [9• ] for more than 1 sec. to emit the in-
tercom beep while holding.
• The transceiver and the COMMANDMIC™ emit beeps.
r Push and hold [PTT] and speak at a normal voice level
into the microphone.

” appears on the caller or listener function
display, respectively.
* “ ” or “ ” appears on the HM-157.

” appears on the IC-M604 or HM-162 if it is idle.
• To adjust the IC-M604’s speaker output level, rotate [VOL].
• To adjust the HM-157’s speaker output level, push [Y] or [Z]
after pushing [VOL• PA/RX
] on the HM-157.
• To adjust the HM-162’s speaker output level, rotate [SELECTOR].
