When a DSC call is received, the automatic foghorn func-
tion is interrupted with an automatic return to the trans-
ceiver mode. The transceiver’s display indicates ‘Receiv-
ing DSC calls.’ (p. 32)
■ RX speaker function
The IC-M604 has an RX speaker function. When this func-
tion is turned ON, the received audio can be heard on the
deck or tower via a hailer speaker.
Connect a hailer speaker as described on p. 46.
q Push [F], then push and hold [7• ] for 1 sec. to enter
the RX Speaker mode.

w Rotate [SELECTOR] to adjust the audio output level, push
[ENT].
e To return to normal operation, repeat step q.
While in the RX speaker mode, rotate [SELECTOR] while
pushing and holding [7• ] after pushing [F], to adjust
the audio output level. After adjusting, push [ENT].
• Rotate [SELECTOR] within 1 sec. after pushing [7• ]. Oth-
erwise the transceiver returns to the normal operation.
