PC 6170 User’s Manual 2.2 HDD Installation The PC 6170 offers a convenient drive bay module for users to install HDD. The PC 6170 offers one 3.5” HDD drive for users to install. If you want to install two 2.5” HDDs, the PC 6170 also provides the 3.5” to 2.5” drive holder to meet your requirement. Please follow the steps: 1. Open the back door. 2. Unscrew 3 screws and remove the riser card bracket kit.

For systems, COM1 and COM2 are RS232 and COM4 is RS-232/422/485. Each serial port is with +5V/+12V power capabilities on both Pin 1 and Pin 8, ready to accommodate a wide array of serial devices, such as fax modem, scanner, serial mouse and touch screen...etc. COM1 to COM4 are all D-SUB 9-pin connectors.

During and after the system boot up, any attempt to write to the boot sector or partition table of the hard disk drive will halt the system with the following message. You can run an anti-virus program to locate the problem. The default setting is “Disabled”.

The wide range of selection includes Floppy, LS120, ZIP100, HDD0~3, SCSI, and CDROM. Boot Other Device This item allows the user to enable/disable the boot device not listed on the First/Second/Third boot devices option above. The default setting is Enabled.

PC 6170 User’s Manual IDE Primary /Secondary Master/Slave PIO The four IDE PIO (Programmed Input/Output) fields let you set a PIO mode (0-4) for each of the four IDE devices that the onboard IDE interface supports. Modes 0 through 4 provide successively increased performance. In Auto mode, the system automatically determines the best mode for each device. The options available are Auto, Mode 0, Mode 1, Mode 2, Mode 3, and Mode 4.

PC 6170 User’s Manual A.5 Power Management Setup The Power Management Setup allows you to save energy of your system effectively. It will shut down the hard disk and turn OFF video display after a period of inactivity.

Power Management This option allows you to select the type (or degree) of power saving for Doze, Standby, and Suspend modes.
