CAUTION: READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE INSTALLING YOUR NEW
LEVELING BASE.
Thank you for purchasing the Acratech leveling base. Your new leveling base is
manufactured using the finest materials and workmanship. With proper care your
leveling base should last for many years.
The main adjustment knob and is used to tighten and loosen the ball so you can
adjust the leveling base. The knob is often only partially loosened so it will
maintain a controlled amount of friction or tension on the ball. The smaller knob is
preset and cannot be adjusted.
INSTALLING YOUR LEVELING BASE ON YOUR TRIPOD
1) If the threaded hole in the bottom of your new leveling base is larger in
diameter than the threaded stud on top of your tripod, then install the
brass reducer bushing provided. To do this you should use a small coin to
hand tighten the reducer bushing to moderate tightness. Measure the
length of the bolt sticking out of your tripod where you are going to install
your new Leveling Base. It should stick up at least ¼ in (6mm) and be no
longer than 3/8 in (9.5mm), if the bolt is too long it must be shortened
(Acratech can do this for a minimal charge).
2) Being careful not to cross thread, slowly tighten your new leveling base
onto your tripod “firmly hand tight”.
3) After installing your new leveling base, CAREFULLY make sure that it is
not interfering or binding on any part of your tripod. IF ANY
INTERFERING OR BINDING OCCURS, REMOVE THE LEVELING BASE
AND CONTACT ACRATECH BEFORE CONTINUING.
