Roof Bracket Instructions:
General: 1) Only for use on roofs. 2) Always use fall protection in accordance with local, state and federal
OSHA regulations. 3) Max roof pitch is 16/12. 4) Not an anchor point. 5) Roof brackets are meant for use
by experienced tradesmen having full knowledge in its use. 7) OSHA regulations require that the employer
provide training in the use and care of this product.
Mounting the Roof Bracket:
1) Roofing brackets should be mounted on the roof with 16 penny nails with all nail positions in the roofing
bracket being used. The roofing bracket should be positioned so that the nails holding the roofing bracket
go through the outer roof surface and penetrate a roof joist. 2) Spacing between roof brackets shall not be
more than four feet apart. 3) Install appropriate Fixed Pitch Roofing Brackets or Adjustable Style Roof
Brackets so that the work platform is level.
Setting the Work Platform:
1) Wood platforms should not be less than 2 inches nominal thickness and should extend beyond the roof
bracket that supports the platform not less than 6 inches and not more than 12 inches. Always use
construction grade lumber (clear, straight-grained wood free from all knots or defects). If extended length
platforms are required use additional roof brackets every 4 feet.
Capacity: No more than one person shall occupy any given four feet of any roofing bracket scaffold.
Instructions for use:
1) Always use an OSHA compliant fall arrest system, guardrails, catch platforms or other safety equipment
as required by local, state, and federal OSHA regulation. 2) Use the walking surface to stage material and
ease working on steep slope roofs.
Care and Maintenance:
1) Inspect all equipment before and after each use to be sure that there is no damage or deformation to any
of the equipment. 2) Inspect to be sure there is no deterioration as a result of rusting. Discard if necessary.
3) Always handle the equipment with care to ensure safe and lasting use. 4) Do not throw or drop any
equipment from height. 5) Do not use if exposed to extreme heat or cold. Discard at once. 6) Do not use if
wet or frozen.
