4.4.2 How to Use the Utility
The SETCOL utility program allows you to specity the number of rows and columns on the screen. You indicate
these values to the SETCOL program by placing them after the name SETCOL on the command line. The format
for the command is:
SETCOL COLUMNS,ROWS <ENTER>
Valid values for columns and rows are:
Columns Rows
80 or 132 25 or 50

If you want to set 132 columns with 25 rows, give the following command:
SETCOL 132,25 <ENTER>
Note 1 :
To use this program with an application program such as WordStar or WordPerfect, the application
may need to be configured for the specific screen size. Please refer to other sections in this manual
on how to configure your applications for this.
Note 2 :
Certain monitors cannot display 50 character rows on the screen, due to hardware limitations in
these monitors. The following table specifies how many rows can be displayed on common
monitors:
