Note: This is a license dependent feature (see 4.4 Upgrade Handset by License on page 11)
and applicable for handsets with Bluetooth.
The handset can be configured to receive data from a Bluetooth barcode reader and then
send the data to another destination.
See also the User Manual for the Ascom d81 DECT Handset for information on how to
connect a bluetooth barcode reader.
In a template or Number in PDM/Device Manager, the parameters are found at:
Bluetooth Data > Configuration
The following optional parameters can be set:
Prefix - A prefix (for example "*23*" or "Barcode:
") can be sent along with the barcode
data.
Number - Determines where the data is sent.
Note: If no numb
er is defined, the da
ta is transmitted as user data (that is, the data is sent
to a system/application). Otherwise, the data is sent as a message (for example to another
handset).
5.47 Name Presentation
The caller’s name is displayed in the user’s handset when the phone is ringing and when in
call. The PBX usually sends information to the handset to resolve details about the calling
party. If no such information is received, CLIP or CNIP can be used as described in the next
section. Where no information is provided by the PBX and both CLIP and CNIP are not
provided, an "Unknown" message is displayed in the handset.
5.47.1 Name Resolution Priorities
How the caller’s name and other information such as the caller’s
numbe
r is presented in the
handset display depends on how the PBX sends calling party information to the handset. The
PBX may or may not be set to pass display management text. The handset always looks for
this information according to the following priorities:
1 If the PBX sends display management text then this is used before any other source
of caller identification such as CLIP, the local phone book, or CNIP. The handset
displays the display management text as it is.
