Type Styles Used:
Safety messages contain three different type styles.
• Normal type states the hazard.
• Bold t
ype states how to avoid the hazard.
• Italic type states the possible consequences of not avoiding the
hazard.
Icons used:
An icon, when present, gives a graphical description of a potential
hazard.
Example:
Engine systems can malfunction expelling fuel, oil
vapors, hot steam, hot toxic exhaust gases, acid,
r
efrigerant and other debris.
Safety goggles and protective gloves must be worn
by
the operator and any bystanders. Even if everyday
eyeglasses have impact resistant lenses, they are
NOT safety glasses.
Engine systems that malfunction can cause injury.
