Modes, DTS Enhancements & THX Options
Modes have become so numerous that it may
become difcult to manage them. Here, the Cin-
ema Rhapsody Mach 4 is specically designed
to minimize mode clutter. In addition to Default
Modes per input, ADA begins by placing modes in
one of two camps, Two-Channel Modes or Multi-
Channel Modes. Both groups are never available
at the exact same time. So when the Cinema
Rhapsody Mach 4 senses a two-channel source
playing, it makes Two-Channel modes available.
The PC program even grays out the Multi-Channel
modes while the front panel does not preset them
at all. Alternately, when a multi-channel signal is
detected (i.e. 5.1), then the Two-Channel modes
grey out or are not visible while the Multi-Channel
modes are.
DTS Enhancements & THX Enhancements
The Cinema Rhapsody Mach 4 PC program has
a unique tab that permits you to engage DTS LFE
Attenuation as well as adjustment of THX En-
hancements. Please note, THX Enhancements
are only available through the PC program and
cannot be accessed via the front panel.
By selecting the Theater side tab and then Mode
top tab, you can then select the DTS & THX Extras
tab to access control of these features.
For THX, the Cinema Rhapsody Mach 4 is unique
in that it permits you to engage Re-Equalization,
Deorralation, and Timbre Match at will providing
you are not on a THX mode in which case, all
three THX lters will automatically be engaged.
This is ideal for those that recognize the benet
of Re-EQ but prefer to leave Decorrelation and
Timbre Match off.
DTS LFE Attenuation is incorporated in the Cin-
ema Rhapsody Mach 4 to compensate for what
some may perceive as excessive bass when play-
ing DTS encoded software. To minimize this, the
Cinema Rhapsody Mach 4 is uniquely capable of
lowering the LFE when a DTS bit stream is de-
tected. Here you can also set the level the LFE
is lowered (in dB) from 0 to -20 dB. Generally,
-10 dB should do the trick. If you choose to use
this feature, you must rst select LFE ATTEN
ENABLE (FOR DTS). Then you can adjust the
level you wish to attenuate the LFE signal. DTS
LFE can be adjusted from the front of the Cinema
Rhapsody Mach 4 under DTS LFE.
