Troubleshooting
If a problem occurs while loading the Windows NT or
Windows 2000 driver or when you try to access a storage
device, check the Event Log. The Event Log lists events that
have been logged by various software components. As an
example, if the driver failed to initialize, the log should have an
event listed as Driver failed to initialize.
To get to the Event Log on Windows NT, click the Start button,
select Programs—Administrative Tools, and click Event
Viewer.
To get to the Event Log on Windows 2000, click the Start
button, select Programs—Administrative Tools, and click
Event Viewer. Select the System Log at the left side of the
Event Window.
Note: A possible cause of driver or device failure could be
that the loop is not complete, or in other words, devices are
not connected in series to form a loop. This does not apply if
you are using a hub or switch.
