FBAD E: to test the second partition, etc.
5) It is now time to create a (P/M system on the Winchester. To do this, be sure you can still
access the Winchester partition you wish to be able to boot from. Do a DIR or something, and if
you can't access it, use QSASSIGN again. Now run QSPUTSYS (be sure you read and understand the
documentation first!) which will place your BIOS and SYSTEM on the Winchester. This will cause the
BIOS and system for the Winchester to be created and placed on the hard disk unit. For
destination drive, specify your Winchester partition, D: in this example.
You may now want to PIP all needed files onto the Winchester disk. If you want an entire disk to
be transferred, for instance, use the command: PIP D:=A:*.*[V).This will cause all files, e xcept
system files to be transferred from the A: floppy to the D: Winchester partition, and verify
them. Note again that we are here assuming "D:" to be the assigned Winchester partition we are
concerned with.
6) Now RESET the system and BOOT to bring up the Winchester boot table (assuming your status
switch on the computer's Winchester host adapter is set to 15 - if it set to any other, that
numbered partition will come up and attempt to boot and the boot table will not com e up.).
