CP/M PARTITIONS LIMITATIONS
The partition utility under CP/M SASIX (by UltiMeth Corporation), divides the physical IDE disk
into up to “15” user partitions or "logical drives". Besides these "logical drives", you can further
have up to “15” USERS NUMBERS or User areas under CP/M (or up to 31 user areas with ZCPR)
to further sub -divide the CP/M partitions. User Numbers are very helpful to use with the IDE
drives, and it is highly recommended that you make use of them for maximum ease of use.
Consult your CP/M manual for additional information on user numbers.
CP/M has a limitation of a maximum number of directory entries which depends on the size of
the partition, which allows up to 8MB per partition. Under CP/M, to view the maximum
directory entries and all pertinent disk data, use the STATUS command as follows;
