Power failure backup
Please note that the device is designed for
mains operation.
The rechargeable battery is used as back-
up only in the event of a power failure.
The stand-by time of the battery is approx.
2 hours.
3. Inserting the rechargeable battery
(included)
Open the battery compartment by sliding
the cover to the right of the device using
your thumb.
To connect the rechargeable battery, insert
the battery plug into the outlet in the battery
compartment.
The battery is charged when »alarmo« is
connected with the mains power supply.
The battery has a charging time of 12
hours. Use and charge only the special
battery A-2995-0.
4. Registering »alarmo« with the
receivers
»alarmo« has to be registered with every
» sign
•
lux «-receiver, which is later suppo-
sed to react to it. By doing so, the type of
signalization is also defined.
To register the transmitter, press and hold
the according receiver’s function key.
The receiver’s event symbols light up in se-
quence.
Release the function key as soon as the
desired symbol is lit up. Now press the func-
tion key of the »alarmo«.
Wait for approx. 20 seconds and test the se-
tup by pressing the »alarmo«’s function key.
The receiver should now react, showing the
according symbol.
Up to 6 different transmitters can be assig-
ned to a single symbol.
Setting up the system
1. Placement
»alarmo« scans and analyses the noises
within its environment for sounds typical of
smoke detectors and similar alarm systems.
In order to assist this function, »alarmo«
should be placed as close as possible to
the sound source of the alarm, which is to
be monitored (e. g. on a shelf underneath a
smoke detector).
In order to gain the best possible transmissi-
on range, please note the following reccom-
mendatios:
- The transmitter should not be placed close
to devices emitting intense interferation,
like TV screens, computer monitors or
mobile phones.
- The transmitter should not be placed on
objects made of metal, as the transmission
range is diminished by the metallic shiel-
ding effect.
Note:
The device is not able of identifying, recor-
ding or even transmitting voices and spoken
conversation.
Therefore there is no possible invasion or
endangerment of the user‘s privacy.
2. Mains operation
Insert the plug at the end of the 12 V power
supply into the corresponding connector on
the rear side of the »alarmo« .
Then plug the power supply unit into a
mains power socket in your room.
