To deselect text
❖ Do one of the following:
• Using the Type tool , click a blank area of your document window or pasteboard.
• Choose Edit > Deselect All.
To change what triple-clicking does
The default behavior of triple-clicking is to select a line. You can change your text preferences so that triple-clicking
instead selects a paragraph.
1 Choose Edit > Preferences > Type (Windows) or InCopy > Preferences > Type (Mac OS).
2 Select Triple Click to Select a Line to enable triple-clicking to select a line (this is the default). Deselect this option
if you want triple-clicking to select a paragraph.
To paste text
When you paste text from another application, you can determine whether InCopy preserves formatting attributes
and adds any styles used to format the text to the Paragraph Styles palette.
1 To preserve text formatting, open the Type section of the Preferences dialog box, and select All Information under
Paste. To remove text formatting when pasting, choose Text Only under Paste.
2 Cut or copy text in another application or in an InCopy document.
3 Select text to replace or click where you want the text to be pasted.
4 Do one of the following:
• Choose Edit > Paste. If All Information is selected in Type Preferences, the text is pasted with formatting. If the
pasted text does not include all the formatting, you may need to change settings in the Import Options dialog box
for either Word or RTF documents.
• Choose Edit > Paste Without Formatting to paste clean text. (Paste Without Formatting is dimmed if you paste
text from another application when Text Only is selected in Type Preferences.)
You can also drag text from another application and drop it into an InCopy document, or you can insert a text file
or word-processing file into an InCopy document directly from Windows Explorer or Mac OS Finder. The text will
be added to a new frame.
