External Power, I/O, and Modbus Subsystems
The following tables contain general t roubl eshoot ing techniques for
the external power, I/O, and Modbus subsystems corresponding to
externally-powered TRITON+ monitors, externa l input/output units
(XIOs), and external M o d bus interface units (XBUSs).
Problem
Monitor is not rec ei vi ng power from the external source.
Possible
Causes
Breaker may have tripped.
Stati on power m ay be off.
Wiring m ay not be properl y c onnected.
Power supply may be faul ty.
ExPAC may be faulty.
Communication cable running between the ExPAC,
XBUS, or XIO is disconnected or defec tive.
Possible
Solutions
Reset breaker.
Have owner/operator restore main power source to
station, as applic abl e.
Verify that the wiring is properly c onnected inside t he
XIO/XBUS or to the ExPAC and power supply.
Verify that OnLED on t he f ront of the power supply in
the XIO/XBUS is illuminated. If it is not , but AC power is
live, replac e the power supply/XBUS/XIO.
Verify that the DC OUT LED (t o the right of t he DC O UT
termi nal connector) on the E xPAC i s illum i nat ed. If it i s
not, but the DC INPUT LED (to the right of the DC
INPUT terminal connector) is illum inated, test the power
at the DC OUT (P4 pi ns 1 & 2). If power is not
available, replace the ExPAC/XBUS/XIO.
Inspec t the communicat i on cable for proper connection
at the monitor and the ExPAC/XBUS/XIO.
Replace communi c ation cable between m oni t or and
ExPAC/XBUS/XIO.
